Self-exclusion tools let a player block their own access to an account for a set period or permanently. They exist because the decision to stop is easier to make calmly in advance than in the middle of a session. Every licensed operator is required to offer them.
Cooling-Off Periods And National Registers
The shortest option is usually a cooling-off period of twenty four hours to a few weeks, after which the account reopens automatically. Players looking at these controls often Bet Mica to see which tools each licensed operator provides. Longer exclusions run from six months to five years, and permanent exclusion closes the account for good with no reinstatement route.
| Tool | Duration | Reversible |
|---|---|---|
| Cooling-off | 24 hours to 6 weeks | Lifts automatically |
| Self-exclusion | 6 months to 5 years | No |
| Permanent | Indefinite | No |
- Check whether the exclusion also blocks marketing contact
- Operator level tools do not cover other casinos
Setting an exclusion is a straightforward action taken in a few minutes, and it stays in force whatever happens afterwards. If play has stopped feeling like entertainment, the cooling-off option costs nothing and provides genuine distance. Free support services exist in every regulated market and are worth contacting alongside any block.
